Westin Bora Bora opening 2024
The most iconic view on Bora Bora is Mt Otemanu, which rises from the turquoise lagoon with such perfect majesty, and there is no better place to witness this stunning vista than the Le Meridien. As the first hotel to build on a private islet along the outer fringing reef, the choicest spot was chosen. Not only is the mountain at her most dramatic from this aspect, the perfectly picturesque lagoon that fronts the property is sheltered from strong currents, and a large interior lagoon, easily closed off from open water, forms a perfect – and perfectly safe – natural swimming pool.
Fully redesigned in 2012, the resort is a quintessential blend of European
modernity and Tahitian exoticism. The overwater bungalows boast the
largest glass floor panels in French Polynesia, with an effect akin
to stepping into an aquarium. The famous Sea Turtle Sanctuary at the
resort is staffed by a team of biologists dedicated to saving both
the green sea turtles and the endangered hawksbill turtles, offering
a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with these
beautiful creatures. Sanctuary biologists offer daily educational
presentations and a small number of guests each day have the
opportunity to swim with the turtles in the sanctuary.
Choose each day from any of the three restaurants on the property: the
gourmet Tipanier offering a differently themed cuisine each night of
the week; the casual Te Ava, a beach restaurant designed to resemble
a Polynesian village serves more casual fare, or the fine dining
restaurant Te Tiare. And in the evening, enjoy the sunset colors and
the stunning views of Mt Otemanu from the Miki Miki bar. A wellness
center offers massage in place or as outcall to the privacy of your
own bungalow. An overwater chapel with a glass floor is the ideal
place for a wedding, or to reaffirm your vows of love.
