Ryan & Tamarea: Aloha Polynesia!
Ryan and Tamarea are originally from Hawaii and grew up loving life on the islands! Although they have settled in Washington state, it was important for them to spend their honeymoon in familiar tropical surroundings that would satisfy their thurst for warm weather, travel adventures, and cultural discovery. French Polynesia was just the perfect place!
Ryan: Tamarae and I live in Spokane, WA. We chose to marry in Honolulu as both of our families are originally from Hawaii and the islands are a special place for us. We chose French Polynesia for our honeymoon for its proximity to Hawaii, natural beauty, tropical climate, culture, and abundance of outdoor activities.
We arrived in French Polynesia and spent our first night at the Manava Suite Hotel in Papeete. We stayed in a Lagoon View bungalow and left for Moorea the next day. We spent 3 nights at the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa and is was great! We had a Deluxe Garden pool bungalow that included a daily American breakfast buffet and went on the AVT (shared squad) Adventure tour to explore the natural beauty of the island. It was a lot of fun!
For our next island visit on Bora Bora we chose to stay at the Hotel St Regis Resort. We spent 4 nights in an Superior Overwater Villa from which we enjoyed nightly sunsets and moon rises. We went on several outdoor adventure tours that included skydiving over Bora Bora, snorkeling on the Motu Tapu tour with Shark & Ray experience, and jetskying around the lagoon. On our last night we had dinner at Chef Damien's Villa Mahana which is considered the best fine dining restaurant in Bora Bora.
We typically plan trips ourselves with a combination of scheduled activities and open time but this time we worked with Pacific for Less which was a great experience. Jennifer arranged for all our scheduled travel, from the moment we boarded the plane in Hawaii until our return. Our transfers and activities were all booked in advance and everything went perfectly!
Our seven days on Moorea and Bora Bora were the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation. It is a trip we will remember for the rest of our lives ...
